    MySQL DBA:

    We are looking for an experienced candidate who knows MySQL database design and has PHP application design skills.

    The MySQL Database Administrator's role is to design, install, administer, and optimize company customer facing servers and related components to achieve high performance of the custom internally designed applications. This includes ensuring the availability of client/server applications, configuring all new implementations, and developing processes and procedures for ongoing management of the MySQL database server environment. Where applicable, the Server Administrator will assist in overseeing the physical security, integrity, and safety of the data center/server farm.

    Requirements:

    • Some PHP experience is a plus
    • Back-up/Recovery Procedures - Expert knowledge of myisamchk and other recovery tools
    • Lead, coordinate and participate in key process improvements
    • Participate in design and review of new systems and applications
    • Coordinate with engineering, application, and database administration functions to ensure availability, reliability, and scalability of our systems to meet business demands
    • Create shell scripts to meet both engineering and departmental needs when required
    • Monitor and test system performance and provide performance statistics and reports including suggestions for improvements
    • Recommend and execute modifications to MySQL database systems in order to improve efficiency, reliability, and performance
    • Work with application development staff to develop database architectures, coding standards, and quality assurance policies and procedures
    • Create models for new database development and/or changes to existing ones
    • Install and configure relevant network components to ensure database access as well as database consistency and integrity
    • Respond to and resolve database access and performance issues
    • Monitor database system details within the database, including stored procedures and execution time, and implement efficiency improvements
    • Design and implement redundant systems, policies, and procedures for disaster recovery and data archiving to ensure effective protection and integrity of data assets
    • Manage and/or provide guidance to junior members of the team
    • Recommend and execute modifications to server environment in order to improve efficiency, reliability, and performance
    • Develop and maintain training materials and server documentation

    Network System Administrator:

    Montrose Travel, a leader in travel consulting and rewards fulfillment seeks experienced Network/System Administrator for in-house and on-line network and server farms. With a focus on security and usability Montrose Travel's information systems incorporate web servers and services, virtual server farms, VLANS, VPN, SANS, VOIP, and other leading edge technologies to provide both their customers and their employees the information and systems they need while insuring the highest level of availability. Montrose Travel is committed to maintaining a high-performance information infrastructure and is currently in the midst of a quarter million dollar system upgrade.

    The Network/Systems analyst is responsible for maintaining in-house and on-line server farms consisting of Windows Server 2008 running virtual Terminal Servers, SQL, and other application servers, and Red Hat Enterprise Linux providing LAMP services, network management (Router, Layer 3 switches, Firewalls, etc.), Exchange 2007/Outlook mail services, telephony systems and system backup and recovery.

    The successful candidate will have five to ten years of hands-on experience supporting information technology infrastructures. We are looking for the candidate who has grown with I.T. technologies, can recognize new trends and apply emerging solutions to provide a reliable, resilient scalable infrastructure. The candidate must have excellent written and verbal skills and should be able to work with all levels of the company; driven to learn and assume ownership of the systems and strive to find ways to improve systems and infrastructure within operational and budgetary constraints, and possess excellent troubleshooting abilities.

    Specific requirements include (but are not limited to):

    • Windows Server 2003 experience, including Active Directory design and management, familiarity with ALCS and user profiles. (Experience with Server 2008 would be a plus)
    • Windows Terminal Server setup, operation and maintenance
    • Windows XP/Vista desktop configuration, support and troubleshooting
    • Exchange Server/Outlook configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting
    • Firewall/Router/Switch configuration, support and maintenance (Cisco/Watchguard/Netgear), including VLAN's, VPN, etc.
    • Storage Area Networks
    • LAMP Server management - preferably Red Hat Enterprise - including web server configuration, certificate management, etc.
    • DNS management
    • Level two desktop support - including system imaging, virus removal and detection, etc.

    PHP Developer:

    Montrose Travel is looking for a top notch developer to join our team. We are looking for a candidate with a passion for PHP and Web development.

    Can you develop, troubleshoot, and enhance Web sites? Can you influence design decisions and work cross functionality with designers, QA teams, and platform product development teams? If yes, we would love to talk to you!

    Requirements:

    • Minimum of 3 years hands-on software development experience in a broad range of technologies, but primarily focused recently in PHP
    • Must be an expert in PHP and Object Oriented PHP
    • Strong and diverse knowledge of web development and infrastructure, e.g. HTML, JavaScript, jQuery, CSS, XML, AJAX, PHP
    • Hands on experience with relational databases, e.g. MySQL, MSSQL
    • Knowledge of search engine marketing and optimization (SEM and SEO)
    • Familiarity with PHP ZendFramework
    • Subversion (Knowledge / Experience a plus)
    • Participate in development, coding, testing, and debugging of new applications or enhancements to existing Web-based applications
    • Perform quality assurance testing and usability testing for various project applications
